Summary

The intern will learn basic molecular biology techniques that includes PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and Western blotting. This is a part-time position, 10 hours/week. 

Job Duties

• Learns Western blotting.
• Learns to troubleshoot PCR amplification conditions.
• Understands principles of Gateway cloning.
• Works on PCR amplification of DNA.
• Transcribes RNA into cDNA. 
• Clones genes of interest into plasmids.
• Performs western blotting to measure expression differences.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Biology, Neuroscience majors are preferred.
• Interest in neuropsychiatric disorders.
