Salary Range:  $57,320-$67,435

Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The renowned Center for Cell and Gene Therapy at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified senior research assistant to work in the laboratory of Dr. Masataka Suzuki. The laboratory’s research focuses on cancer immunotherapies using adenoviral vectors and CAR-T cells to improve the treatment of various solid tumors. Dr. Suzuki's lab is currently evaluating this strategy in a clinical trial, and the hired senior research assistant will be instrumental in further developing our immunotherapy, especially for CAR-T cell platform, for bench-to-bedside translation.

Job Duties

  • Plans, directs and conducts research in vitro and in vivo experiments by him/herself.
  • Evaluates, analyzes and documents data obtained from these experiments by him/herself.
  • Develops immunological research techniques and performs applications required for research projects related with cancer immunotherapy.
  • Prepares data in principal investigator's grant preparation.
  • Trains and orients less experienced research staff to be familiar with general laboratory technique and experiments for immunological assay.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned (e.g. check stocks and order, maintain lab machines).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. 
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
