Summary
The Senior Programmer Analyst at the Human Genome Sequencing Center plays a key role in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of software applications and genomic analysis pipelines. This position requires both independent problem-solving and close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. The individual is responsible for delivering high-quality, well-documented, and thoroughly tested software solutions on time. The role involves full-stack web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, and modern JavaScript libraries. The Senior Programmer Analyst also works closely with IT and cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently, ensure software meets user needs, and contribute to continuous integration practices through code reviews and regular check-ins.
Job Duties
- Works independently and collaboratively with other team members to develop and maintain new and existing applications and genomic analysis pipelines.
- Ensures implementations are adequately tested and documented and approved by affected users/stakeholders.
- Works collaboratively with other groups across IT, escalating issues to the appropriate teams.
- Meets deadline commitments on time and produces high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
- Develops web applications with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, AJAX and JavaScript Libraries.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- Four years of relevant experience.
