Summary

The Senior Coordinator, Program Management will play a key role in shaping and sustaining an innovative Clinical Sciences Curriculum within the School of Medicine’s Curriculum Office. This position is responsible for overseeing the ongoing development, maintenance, and enhancement of curriculum content, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices. The role emphasizes continuous quality improvement, collaboration with faculty and stakeholders, and the delivery of a dynamic, informative learning experience for medical students.

 

This position is located onsite only in the Texas Medical Center.

Job Duties

• Ensures programs align with and meet compliance and accreditation guidelines; may provide guidance and leadership in the accreditation process.
• Plans, implements, and oversees education programs and activities.
• Works with deans and educational leaders to implement procedures for CQI of processes used to administer curriculum.
• Works closely with course faculty and staff to maintain adherence to procedures and deadlines.
• Provides content development support for programs and activities.
• May perform basic fiscal management activities, including financial reporting and/or purchasing.
• Participates in comprehensive reviews of the curriculum, including information from each course and clerkship, for the assessment of the longitudinal curriculum.
• Assists with the day-to-day operations of the clinical sciences curriculum and select electives for the SOM educational program.
• Provides administrative support for the Curriculum Office Leadership team or other faculty, including student calendaring for the SOM, scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, and preparing correspondence.
• Administratively supports the clerkship directors/program coordinators.  
• Manages the various system applications utilized in medical education departments (i.e., Blackboard, DaVinci Leo, SAP, Vida Nova, etc.).  
• Provides course/program materials and documentation on matters relating to education courses.  
• Interacts with course/program directors to facilitate course/program objectives.  
• Performs critical tasks related to the annual review processes in collaboration with course/program directors.  
• Ensures program, student, and department needs are met, resources are identified, and recommendations are implemented for improvements or enhancements.  
• Creates, implements, and maintains various system applications for all assigned courses/programs.  
• May serve as the back-up administrator for one or more medical school subcommittees.  
• Coordinates the administrative functions of the department’s medical education courses 
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex rotation schedules across various clinical sites.
