Summary

Temple, TX - The School of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Coordinator to provide comprehensive administrative support for a multitude of elective offerings. This role operates with a high level of autonomy and requires the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling large volumes of complex, confidential information. The Senior Coordinator must demonstrate a proven ability to independently manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines. Working collaboratively across departments and campuses, the position regularly interacts with course leadership, faculty, and students to facilitate academic activities related to elective requirements. This role is integral to the administrative operations that support compliance with accreditation standards and ensures the effective delivery of the elective curriculum.

 

Position is located in Temple, TX.

Job Duties

  • Manages the day-to-day operational activities of required and/or selective elective offerings to ensure curricular objectives, institutional policies, and accreditation requirements are met. 
  • Partners with elective course directors to plan, implement, and evaluate elective learning experiences, including monitoring course capacity, enrollment, and completion requirements.
  • Coordinates the distribution, tracking, and collection of medical student evaluations related to elective experiences and ensures timely reporting and documentation. 
  • Assists with the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing coordination of clinical elective preceptors, including maintaining required documentation and compliance records. 
  • Oversees student assignment processes, elective scheduling, and the accurate reporting of student participation and completion across all phases of the elective experience. 
  • Prepares, distributes, and communicates elective schedules, syllabi, orientation materials, and course-related communications to students and faculty.
  • Administratively supports the course directors/program coordinators. 
  • Manages the various system applications utilized in medical education departments (i.e., Blackboard, Excel, Learning Management Systems, etc.). 
  • Provides course/program materials and documentation on matters relating to education courses. 
  • Interacts with course/program directors to facilitate course/program objectives.
  • Performs critical tasks related to the electives review processes in collaboration with course/program directors and the Electives Subcommittee. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years of administrative support or other relevant experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking and managing data efficiently. 
  • Adaptable and open to training in various Learning Management Systems (LMS).
