Title:  Senior Perfusionist-San Antonio

Summary

The Senior Perfusionist is responsible for the delivery of advanced patient care as needed during a surgical procedure. This position is located in  San Antonio, TX.

Job Duties

• Develops and initiates interdisciplinary care plan and other case management tools. 
• Performs, administers and assists with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures.
• Maintains and operates cardiopulmonary pump, Cell Saver, auto transfuser and intra-aortic balloon pump during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
• Develops and initiates interdisciplinary care plan and other case management tools. 
• Performs, administers, and assists with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures utilizing established procedures and protocols. 
• Coordinates information and care requirements among care providers related to treatments, procedures, medications, and continuing patient care. 
• Sets up and operates heart-lung machine to assume the functions of patient organs during surgery.
• Ensures that pump team supplies and equipment are always readily available.
• May administer medicines through the cardiopulmonary bypass circuit.
• Operates equipment to achieve bypass, coronary perfusion, recirculation, or partial bypass, or to alter blood content, temperature or balance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and completion of an accredited Perfusionist Technology program.
• Four years of relevant experience.
• Licensed Perfusionist (LP) by the State of Texas Medical Board (TMB). Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).
