The Baylor College of Medicine Senior Manager, Business Operations at The Children's Hospital of San Antonio will oversee the daily operations of the Department of Pediatrics/OBGYN/Surgery including managing the human resources functions, managing staff members, department finances, grants, graduate medical education office, physicians credentialing and recruiting, faculty appointments and promotions, ensure organizational processes are being followed, assist the Executive Director with small to medium size projects. As we are affiliated with The Children's Hospital of San Antonio the Senior Manager, Business Operations is also expected to collaborate with its counterparts at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio to asses and resolve any physicians or affiliate grievances.

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily operations of a department or unit including, but not limited to, areas of human resources, compliance and financial management. 
  • Manage primarily professional level employees, to include defining work responsibilities and prioritization, setting performance development plans and goals, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
  • May develop, manage, and control budgets. Establish financial and operational systems to monitor, control, and verify expenditures and carry out financial analyses.
  • Establish staffing plans, schedules and productivity guidelines according to budget availability and department/unit needs. 
  • Ensure the ongoing review and development of process improvements to maximize business productivity. 
  • Manage the human resources activities for the unit/department, including hiring, terminations, salary, and disciplinary actions.
  • Formulate policies and guidelines for unit/department activities.
  • Review and approve all statements of accounts, payroll, human resources, and invoice actions.
  • Manage pre-award and/or post-award related tasks in support of department faculty members.
  • May assist with or manage special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's in Healthcare Administration or related degree.
