Summary
Baylor College of Medicine at CHRISTUS Children’s in San Antonio, Texas invites applicants for our 1-year Pediatric Psychology Fellowship Program with emphasis in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Primary clinical activities include outpatient neurodevelopmental assessment for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Fellows will also receive supervision in behavioral family therapy for children with as ASD well as a variety of other neurodevelopmental/medical disorders (e.g., Prader Willi, Cerebral Palsy, FASD, neuromuscular disorders) through collaboration with our Center for Children and Families and Morgan’s Wonderland Multi-Assistance Center. Fellows will have regular collaboration with other subspecialties and multidisciplinary clinics. Fellows are welcome to engage in ongoing research and are provided teaching opportunities with pediatric residents and psychology practicum students.
Job Duties
- Receives supervision in behavioral family therapy for children with as ASD well as a variety of other neurodevelopmental/medical disorders (e.g., Prader Willi, Cerebral Palsy, FASD, neuromuscular disorders) through collaboration with our Center for Children and Families and Morgan’s Wonderland Multi-Assistance Center.
- Collaborates regularly with other subspecialties and multidisciplinary clinics.
- Engages in ongoing research and are provided teaching opportunities with pediatric residents and psychology practicum students.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of postsecondary applicable degree/training program.
- May require licensure or certification in related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical or School Psychology at APA-accredited programs.
- Training and/or experience with parent interventions and children with behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred or must be willing to train in these areas.
- Spanish-speaking applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Supervision in Spanish available.
- Experience working with medically underserved families is desired.
- Interested in remaining in San Antonio, TX as full-time faculty after fellowship is strongly desired.
- Completed an APA-accredited psychology internship.
