CHRISTUS Children's, a world-class 240-bed freestanding children's hospital in San Antonio, serves as a focal point for pediatric services throughout the community. In 2013, CHRISTUS Health finalized an agreement partnering with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) to recruit, employ, and oversee physicians and advanced practice providers at CHRISTUS Children's.

Summary
Baylor College of Medicine at CHRISTUS Children's is seeking a faculty member to fill a PRN position in the Department of GME.
Job Duties
- Resident evaluation and assessment
- Participate as a member of the Clinical Competency Committee (primary work in November/December and April/May)
- Design and oversee remediation plans
- Design and implement the program's assessment strategies, making certain there are robust methods used to assess each competency, and ensuring they provide meaningful information by which the Clinical Competency Committee can judge resident performance on the Milestones
- Complete assigned evaluations in MedHub for residents on clinical rotation Program evaluation and improvement
- Participate in the annual program review as a member of the Program Evaluation Committee
- Implement and analyze outcomes of action plans developed by the Program Evaluation Committee
- Lead program efforts related to resident and faculty member well-being Resident recruitment
- Serve as a faculty interviewer for at least 20% of interview sessions (interviews will be on Mondays 9:30-11:15am & 1:30-3:15pm and on Fridays 9:30-11:15am & 1:30-3:15pm during October, November, December, and possibly January)
- Participate in the annual Rank List Committee applicant review and rank list meeting (primary work in January and early February) Mentorship and clinical leadership
- Serve as a faculty mentor to at least two residents annually (holding meetings with each at least quarterly, including co-creating, implementing, and monitoring individualized learning plans)
- Support/oversee residents in the development/assessment of quality improvement/patient safety projects and presentations at quarterly MMI conferences when appropriate
- Support/oversee residents in the conduct of their scholarly work, including the dissemination of such work through presentations, posters/abstracts, and peer-reviewed publications Teaching and curriculum
- Serve as a "point person" from clinical division to schedule all didactic education in that subspecialty for our Academic Half Day Fridays (i.e. can do some of the teaching and coordinate the others within the subspecialty topic; can include afternoon workshops, morning simulations, etc.)
- Assist with leading faculty development for the program's faculty members
- Design and implement simulation for teaching and assessment
- Develop, implement, and assess one or more of the major components of the curriculum, such as patient safety, quality, health disparities, or core didactics
Minimum Qualifications
- M.D. degree.
