Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Department of Surgery's Aortic Disease Research Laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking to a candidate to support the lab’s molecular mechanisms of aortic diseases research projects. State-of-the-art techniques and advanced animal models are used in the lab’s investigations.

Job Duties

  • Under the direction of the Principle Investigator, the candidate will collect and analyze data related to signal transduction, epigenetic gene expression regulation, single-cell omics, and vascular biology with focus on aortic aneurysms and dissections. – 50%
  • Under the director of the Principle Investigator, the candidate may design and support the execution of experiments for lab projects. – 20%
  • Conduct literature searches and summarize information for use by Principle Investigator and lab members. – 20%
  • Support lab members by ensuring laboratory supplies are kept at par levels.- 5%
  • Under the supervision of the Principle Investigator, the candidate may present findings at conferences and support the writing of manuscripts. – 5%
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.
