Salary Range:  $35,591 - $41,872
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine is looking for a research technician. The RT II will be performing the routine elements of research work that requires the use of skills, technical and academic knowledge to follow established procedures and record results. A major focus of our research group is to develop technologies that can be translated to the clinic to improve patients' quality of life.

Job Duties

  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments, produces reliable consistent data and analyzes data. 
  • Works with mice.
  • Conducts literature searches related to experiment conduct and presents and records data in order to support research related decision making.
  • Reports and accurately documents all results of experiments.
  • Evaluates constantly the success of experiments to improve lab related processes.
  • Orders supplies as needed. 
  • Interfaces with clinical providers - nurses, doctors.
  • Works with members of the clinical research team.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.
