Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Section of Psychology (Housed within Texas Children’s Hospital).  A Full-Time Research Coordinator position (40 hours per week) is available to assist with a behavioral research studies focused on youth and college students. The research is focused on addressing the health disparities in diabetes and mental health. 

Job Duties

  • Manages all aspects of study implementation (e.g., scheduling study visits, obtaining informed consent, administering participant incentives).
  • Determines eligibility and recruits patients for research participation.
  • Conducts assessment procedures required by study protocols, which includes administering patient-reported outcomes measures to patients, scoring assessment measures, and assisting in interpreting the results.
  • Assists with training and overseeing activities of new staff and trainees.
  • Conducts medical chart abstractions.
  • Manages patient research files.
  • Coordinates data collection at participating sites.
  • Develops and maintains databases in RedCap, Microsoft Excel, and statistical software packages (i.e., SPSS).
  • Prepares documentation necessary to obtain initial and continued approval for specific research protocols.
  • Completes all required training modules related to the Responsible Conduct of Research (e.g., CITI Program training).
  • Determines eligibility and recruits patients for research participation. 
  • Schedules study visits, obtains informed consent, administers participant incentives.
  • Drafting IRB protocols and working closely with the Principal Investigator to identify problems with project implementation and determine solutions. Opportunities to assist with manuscript or abstract preparation.
  • Delivering a manualized behavioral intervention to youth and parents via a virtual platform.
  • Collecting research data using questionnaires with parents, youth, and college students.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or related degree.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
