Job Title:  Research Coordinator II - Obstetrics & Gynecology

Salary Range:  $47,372 - $55,731
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit Network (MFMU) position is in the OB/GYN department which covers two hospitals, Ben Taub Hospital and Texas Children's Pavilion for Women. The prestigious MFMU is NIH funded and awarded to only 12 academic institutions in the United States. The MFMU conducts high-quality clinical research studies that inform clinical practice.

Job Duties

  • Coordinates day-to-day activities of research protocols at both hospitals, including participant screening, enrollment, intervention, and monitoring.
  • Ensures accurate data and specimen collection, documentation, and organization.
  • Maintains participant safety throughout the research process.
  • Transports blood and biological specimens from the operating room or labor and delivery to designated laboratories within walking distance.
  • Ensures all required trainings and certifications are current and compliant.
  • Participates in after-hours and weekend on-call duties as required by specific studies.
  • Orders and maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Two or more years of experience working in clinical trials with human subjects.
  • Experience with EPIC and clinical research databases.
  • Medical background and familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong multitasking abilities; able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) preferred.
