Summary
Dr. Eric Storch is looking for a Research Coordinator I that will coordinate and assist with the research node of Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC). The research node of the TCMHCC will develop relationships with local hospitals, clinics and child advocacy centers to assist children and adolescents with depression and anxiety. This Research Coordinator I will assist and coordinate the daily activities of the program.
This research focuses on mentally ill children and adolescents with depression and anxiety. Candidates who have experience or interest in psychiatry are encouraged for this coordinator role. This role also will be working alongside with 2-3 other research coordinators and teamwork is required for the research grant.
Job Duties
- Interviews, screen and recruits patients for study through the established relationships of local hospitals, clinics, and child advocacy centers with a team of other research coordinators.
- Obtains informed consent forms from patients and families. Explains process and procedures to educate the patient and patient families regarding the Childhood Depression Network, and Childhood Trauma Network.
- Collects patient information, processes documents and enters information into the database management system managed by the Hub.
- Participates in training activities provided by the Childhood Depression and Childhood Trauma Research Hubs.
- Maintains records, data captured during assessments into a data management system managed by the Hub. Schedules research participant for tests and procedures such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and other studies specific for the research protocol. Retrieves and submits test results to appropriate party.
- Provide updates and presentations to PI on quarterly metrics outlined in the grant including number of research participants recruited, number of assessments completed, number of participants dropped, and the total number of active participants.
- Orders supplies and equipment.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. No experience required with preferred degree.
