Summary
A scientific research position in Molecular and Cellular Biology is available in Dr. David Lonard’s laboratory. The Research Associate will join our dynamic research team to investigate wound healing mechanisms and the role of steroid receptor coactivation by small-molecule drugs in cancer research. The project will utilize state-of-the-art technologies, including RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, proteomics, metabolomics, FACS sorting, and genetically engineered mouse models, including lineage-tracing models. Experience with animal work is required.
Job Duties
- Operate all the instrumentation needed for the projects (training will be provided as needed)
- Document experimental procedures in precise details
- Collect and compile imaging and cell culture data
- Prepare reagents and solutions, and perform experimental work as needed, including live cell experiments and cell culture (2D/3D)
- Troubleshoot problematic results Manage a limited number of mouse colonies
- Perform animal studies
- Directly interact and report to the drug development team
- Maintain core laboratory organization, monitor lab reagents and do ordering
- Optimize novel assays and protocols under the drug development team guidance
- Plan and conduct experiments, analyze data, and prepare publications describing results
- Help in training and mentoring of lab personnel, including graduate and undergraduate students
- Maintain good communication with lab leader and members
- Perform other job related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Basic Science or a related field. Experience in lieu of degree will not be accepted.
- Three years of relevant experience typically as a Research Assistant, Research Technician or Postdoctoral Fellow/Associate.
