Summary
The renowned Center for Cell and Gene Therapy at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified research assistant to work in the laboratory of Dr. Masataka Suzuki. The laboratory’s research focuses on cancer immunotherapies, specifically oncolytic viro-immunotherapy and chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, to improve the treatment of various solid tumors. Dr. Suzuki is planning to further improve and evaluate these agents in in vitro and in vivo models.
Job Duties
- Performs routine technical laboratory procedures listed independently.
- They will be planning and designing their task independently. This role will be providing instruction and mentorship to lower level technicians/students.
- Molecular biology experiments including cloning.
- In vitro immunological assays using both human immune and cancer cells.
- Small animal experiments.
- Enters data into research database.
- Clean equipment and work area.
- Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master degree in a biotechnology, immunology or related field.
