Job Title:  Physician Billing Specialist II

Salary Range:  $35,591 - $41,872
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Physician Billing Specialist II who thrives in both team-based and independent work environments and can effectively manage responsibilities in a fast-paced setting.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physician billing, including patient registration processes, and must demonstrate a thorough understanding of maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Key responsibilities include accurate data entry, managing pre–accounts receivable (Pre-A/R) work queues, and performing additional duties as assigned.

 

Proficiency in computer systems is essential, particularly in navigating and utilizing various hospital portals to support daily operations.

 

This position may require the ability to work overtime during month-end.

Job Duties

  • Monitors and maintains workques (registrations, self-pay, medicaid found, and others).
  • Assists with missing surgery reports.
  • Reviews operative notes to determine if ready for processing.
  • Assists with data entry.
  • Resolves patient billing issues and patient reconciliations reports.
  • Assists with helping departments meet monthly goals and deadlines.
  • Processes billing for various departments in a timely manner.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A healthcare administration or business-related degree may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Charge entry experience.
  • Familliarity with HIPAA.
  • Strong computer skills, including Epic and Excel.
