Salary Range:  $63,052 to $74,178
FLSA Status:  Exempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

This Registered Nurse I (RN I) serves as a member of the Baylor Medicine Comprehensive Healthcare Clinic concierge and executive programs team serving high-touch Baylor constituents, special patient populations, and corporate clients. The RN I is responsible for delivering high-level patient care and support while working to support physicians and the allied health/wellness team. They will collaborate with senior leadership, ensuring excellence in patient care, in an effort to achieve optimal clinical outcomes through a seamless model of access and care while ensuring an environment that provides quality care and patient safety.  They will perform routine patient care responsibilities, obtain specialized training for advanced in-suite testing procedures, and will routinely coordinate appointments, referrals, medical records, and other administrative duties in support of Baylor College of Medicine constituents, concierge members, and executive health patients. 

Job Duties

  • Performs responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality and safe patient care and a positive patient experience.
  • Adheres to the scope of practice as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provides professional nursing assessment of patients.
  • Provides telephone triage to patients and ensure patients receive the right level of care.
  • Triages/Manages incoming MyChart messages.
  • Serves as Liaison between patient and physician.
  • Instructs patients concerning the preparations needed for tests and surgical procedures.
  • Assists with Concierge patient care coordination.
  • Schedules appointments, tests, and examinations with hospital and other doctor’s offices.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient’s electronic medical record.
  • Sets up instruments and equipment for Physicians.
  • Assists with procedures as needed.
  • Executes physician orders and administers medications and treatments for patients.
  • Instructs Patients on general care and medical procedures.
  • As needed, will perform routine patient care responsibilities such as taking vital signs, collect specimens, EKGs/ECGs, Vision Screening, Hearing Screening, ABI’s, Pulmonary Function Tests, Cognitive Function screening, Dexa Bone Scans, Dexa Body Fit scans and POCTs.
    Maintains patient and service rooms in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Conducts patient outreach phone calls and post visit follow-ups.
  • Communicates with patients, family, and staff in order to ensure compliance with Baylor College of Medicine policies and procedures.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
  • Performs clerical/administrative responsibilities such as filing and/or scanning patient medical records, obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information.
  • Assists clinical manager in day-to-day activities to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Addresses daily issues at the clinic morning huddles. Suggest possible solutions.
  • Assists practice manager keep inventory of clinic supplies and order supplies as needed.
  • Assists in the monitoring of all clinical equipment, need of repairs and or replacement.
  • Participates in meetings with practice manager and senior leadership at scheduled intervals to discuss/plan clinical strategies. 
  • Serves as one of the clinics leads and liaison for the quality nurse team.
  • Serves as one of the clinics leads for the safety team during in-clinic testing.
  • Identifies and supports basic cost containment and efficiency for patients and the clinic.
  • Maintains a professional and cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information, responding to requests, and building rapport by participating in team problem-solving methods.
  • Respects and supports patient rights and promotes positive family and patient relations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • No experience required.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
