Summary
The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Radiological Technologist to work within the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy. This position provides patient care and technical expertise in the operation of diagnostic radiographic equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.
Job Duties
- Prepares patient for radiographic procedures by reviewing the exam order.
- Operates computer and radiographic equipment for image production and documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
- Quality control is performed on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis, as required for the X-ray machine category.
- Prepares patients films for interpretation by radiologist.
- Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
- Practices safety measures in radiography and Environment of Care.
- Participates in research projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
- No experience required.
- Certification and Registration as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry or Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and Licensure as a Medical Radiological Technologist or Limited Medical Radiological Technologist by the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
