Summary
The postdosctoral associate will be working in a project to investigate the roles of SERPIN proteins in neurodegeneration and more especifically on Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease. Postdoc will work with Drosophila models of these disorders using genetic, statistical, biochemical and other molecular approaches. This will require working with robots, computers, especiallyzed software and stereomicroscopes in addition to the genetic and molecular biology benches.
Job Duties
- Conducts genetic screens using Drosophila disease models.
- Assesses neuronal dysfunction using locomotor assays and operates robotic equipment.
- Analyzes data using advanced statistical methods.
- Conducts assays to assess and quantify neurotoxic protein levels using immunoblotting techniques.
- Writes and prepares manuscript for publication.
- Addresses reviews folllowig submission.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Basic Science or related field.
