Summary
One postdoc position in Protein X-ray Crystallography is available at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. The successful candidate is expected to have strong expertise and a track record of publications in the field. One critical requirement is he/she can work independently to perform protein crystallization with small molecule ligands/inhibitors, X-ray diffraction, data collection and structural refinement. Basic molecular biology/biochemistry techniques (cloning, construction of protein expression plasmids, western blot, etc) are required. The main duties are to obtain X-ray crystal structures of biologically important proteins with novel small molecule inhibitors. This is an important aspect in the drug discovery programs in the PI’s lab.
