Summary

Provides senior leadership to establish and grow a multidisciplinary Environmental Health & Asthma Research Center at TCRI. Serves as the PI's primary operational and strategic partner, translating scientific vision into a scalable, high-impact research enterprise across basic, clinical, and translational domains.

Job Duties

  • Center Operations & Research Execution
  • Lead daily operations of large-scale, multisite research programs
  • Build and oversee infrastructure (regulatory, data, QA, workflows)
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements
  • Launch and manage major research initiatives and cohorts

Strategy, Growth & Partnerships

  • Co-develop and execute long-term strategic roadmap
  • Support funding growth and grant readiness
  • Build partnerships across BCM, TCH, TMC, and external stakeholders
  • Position the Center as a leader in pediatric environmental health research

Faculty & Institutional Collaboration

  • Partner with PI on strategy and operations
  • Support faculty by managing operations, staffing, compliance, and finances
  • Align Center activities with institutional priorities

Training & Workforce Development

  • Oversee research training programs across learner levels
  • Support trainees and early-career investigators
  • Manage onboarding, compliance, and program outcomes
  • Lead educational initiatives (seminars, workshops, career development)

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, supervise, and develop staff
  • Build a multidisciplinary team and set performance standards
  • Financial, Administrative & Compliance Oversight
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and program quality
  • Coordinate with institutional support functions (HR, finance, IT, grants)

Program Leadership & Communications

  • Lead Center-wide programs and internal funding initiatives
  • Drive communications, visibility, and stakeholder engagement

Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • Experience leading complex research programs
  • Expertise in operations, compliance, financial management, and team leadership
