Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Department of Pediatrics at Texas Children's Hospital is actively seeking an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join the dynamic Gastroenterology Team as the Manager of Business Operations (Division Administrator).

 

The Manager, Business Operations manages the daily operations of the Pediatrics - Gastroenterology Division in the areas of human resources, financial management, and compliance. This includes, but is not limited to, management of the Division's annual budget, collaboration with the TCH Practice Administrator for the TCH annual budget, faculty and staff hiring process and promotions, management of faculty effort (CART), and supervision of 6 BCM Coordinators.

Job Duties

Financial Management:

  • Collaborate with TCH Practice Administrator and Director for TCH annual budget.
  • Manage faculty effort distributions (CART) in PEPT. Collaborate with the Center for Research Advancement for grant-related distributions.
  • Monitor and control all BCM financial transactions through Jaggaer, Concur, and other BCM systems.
  • Provide and develop budget and expense reports on a regular basis.
  • Create internal infrastructure and processes for revenue growth, spending, cost accounting, and reporting.

Administrative/Human Resources:

  • Perform pre-hire activities including business justifications, HRMS requests, position management in SuccessFactors, and general recruitment support.
  • Perform post-hire activities including general onboarding support, salary and FTE changes, promotion requests (faculty and staff), merit increases, and faculty CART changes.
  • Liaise and collaborate with BCM Employee Relations for conflict resolution, verbal counsels, and disciplinary actions.
  • Liaise with BCM Legal, International Services Office (ISO), and Compliance Teams for contractual obligations, visa sponsorship, and general compliance administration.

Leadership:

  • Manage 6 Gastroenterology Coordinators.
  • Develop staffing plans, define work responsibilities and prioritization, set performance and development plans, and conduct annual performance evaluations in partnership with supported faculty and TCH Practice Administrator.
  • Project lead for all BCM-specific initiative and new systems.
  • Tangential leadership support for TCH staff as needed.

Operational:

  • Collaborate with the Division Chief and Practice Administrator to maximize operational productivity to ensure consistent structure, communication, and development of division-wide initiatives.
  • Develop and direct short and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Lead complex financial and budget functions.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the Division.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Four years of relevant experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or in pursuit of an advanced degree in a related field such as Public Health, Healthcare Administration/Management, or Business Administration.
  • Experience in Jaggaer, Concur, SuccessFactors, SAP S4HANA, QGenda, and PEPT.
