Salary Range:  $47,372 - $55,371
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Lead Coordinator, Materials Management provides operational leadership and oversight for multiple receiving docks, ensuring efficient and accurate Receiving, Storing, and Delivery functions across Baylor College of Medicine. This role performs advanced, high-level duties within materials operations, supports process improvements, and helps maintain compliance with institutional standards. The Lead Coordinator serves as a key resource to team members and acts as the primary backup to the Supervisor, Materials Management, assuming supervisory responsibilities as needed to maintain seamless operational continuity.

Job Duties

  • Handles and maintains flow of materials and products according to established guidelines.
  • Monitors logistics associated with Receiving, Storing, and Delivering products and shipments.
  • Monitors staff to ensure they follow receiving guidelines and procedures.
  • Trains new team members.
  • Maintains knowledge of freight regulations and procedures.
  • Recommends processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Tracks and documents the logistics of material using computer software and scanners.
  • Provides assistance to internal and external customers.
  • Manages inventory and coordinates stock transfers between facilities.
  • Coordinates maintenance of docks, delivery equipment, and vehicles.
  • Supports and fills in for the Supervisor, Materials Management when needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Six years of relevant experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License; clean driving record; three years of driving history in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills strongly desired.
  • Proactively detect problems and ensure effective resolution.
  • Experience overseeing large-scale loading/unloading dock operations and staff.
  • Experience shipping, receiving, storing, and delivering perishable items, research animals, and other potentially infections materials (OPIM).
  • Employee oversight and training.
