Summary
The Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an administrative laboratory director for the Cardiovascular Surgery and Clinic Research labs. The laboratory director will support the optimization of the research programs by providing guidance to faculty and staff on Baylor College of Medicine policies and procedures, adherence to established research protocols, development of research budgets, and monitoring expenditures.
Job Duties
- Manages administrative functions of the laboratory including human resources management of assigned laboratory staff, developing research project budgets, monitoring expenditures and performing some post-award financial duties Support Center Faculty in developing communications for clinical trials recruitment
- Develops and maintains laboratory safety and research protocols to comply with study and regulatory requirements
- Procures supplies and equipment necessary to conduct research projects through BCM systems such as Jaggaer including managing vendor agreements in conjunction with the BCM supply chain team
- Ensures that laboratory equipment is well maintained and necessary equipment is on-hand for experiments
- Performs other job related duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Five years of relevant experience.
