Summary
The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine seeks an exceptional candidate for a full-time faculty position as a surgical intensivist in the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at an academic rank (Assistant or Associate) commensurate with experience. The selected candidate will join a busy team of acute care surgeons who provide service at our affiliate hospitals. The candidate must have Surgical Critical Care fellowship training in addition to board certification in Surgery. The preferred candidate will have a demonstrated clinical interest in critical care and acute care surgery and have an interest in academic development, research, and mentorship.

Ideally situated in the heart of the world's largest medical center, the 150 members of the Department practice in the Texas Medical Center at iconic institutions, including Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, Texas Children's Hospital, Ben Taub Hospital, and the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must exhibit a commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and collaborative practices. An established record of robust clinical experience and outcomes in both general surgery and surgical critical care is necessary, and a commitment to teaching general surgery residents and surgical critical care fellows. The candidate must be board-certified or board-eligible in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care and qualify for medical licensure in Texas. A strong interest in clinical research and pursuit of a national reputation in Acute Care Surgery is strongly desired.
