This position will work with the Training Director, training analysts, subject matter experts and application team members to develop, deliver, and optimize the Epic training program or other training for other applications.  Assesses, develops and delivers training for assigned application as well as special projects. The position will specialize in applications and take the lead in the development and implementation of the training for those applications and will be responsible for developing and maintaining training materials. This position will create eLearning, interactive video, and other multimedia content to be used both synchronously and asynchronously. Works with customers to ensure that concerns and questions are resolved to their satisfaction with minimum disruptions. Works with functional team to gather requirements for developing training documentation. Performs tasks requiring judgment, initiative, and in-depth knowledge of company policies and procedures. Responsibilities will be distributed across project and support related work. Assists with user administration on Training systems and coordination pertaining to class scheduling and logistics.


This position requires someone who has training/experience actual training system applications.  Epic experience will be one of the primary experiences needed to fill this position.  An Epic Certified in Ambulatory EpicCare or related clinical areas is preferred.  


Position is located at the McGovern Campus.

Job Duties

*Delivers in-person and remote training to end users and the duties related to that task, including planning, coordinating, facilitating, and evaluating in-person classroom or 1:1 training related to the Epic applications assigned.  
*Fosters strong relationships between the staff, subject matter experts, trainers, and the Epic team. The Training Associate will deliver the training to end users, making them a critical component to developing strong relationships across groups.
*Handles all tasks involved with training including creating sessions, marking or tracking attendance, enrolling learners in tests, administering classroom assessments, reporting scores, performance in classes, and review and act on class evaluations. 
*Develops full suite of materials for classroom training (includes manuals, quick reference guides, user logins, exercises, assessments, etc.).
*Works with Epic analysts and subject matter experts in the upkeep and development of materials.
*Creates training sessions, tracks and updates attendance, assigns courses to learners, runs reports and other actions within the SuccessFactors LMS.
*Conducts training needs assessments.
*Builds, tests, and maintains the Epic training environment focusing on assigned module(s) including workflow testing, MST system configuration and build, patient build, and MST troubleshooting. 
*Develops additional training materials or documents to be used with any in-person or remote learning (including emergency needs such as with Covid, etc.). 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

*Epic certified, proficient or credentialed preferred.
*Knowledge of and experience with adult learning techniques required. 
*Proven skill in oral presentation and facilitation required.
*Demonstrated skill in human relations and written, verbal, and electronic communication required. 
*Healthcare or higher education experience preferred.

*Must be solutions oriented and be able to monitor and prioritize daily tasks exercising discretion and independent judgment.
*Ability to work independently with little or no day to day supervision.
*Must have strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to communicate on both an interpersonal and technical level.
*Strong organizational, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills.
