Summary

The Department of Urology is seeking a skilled nurse to provide comprehensive patient care in an ambulatory care setting through both in-person and telephone interactions. This role supports physicians and clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care, including assisting with examinations, treatments, and procedures. Responsibilities include coordinating diagnostic tests and appointments, documenting and communicating patient information to referring providers, and supervising medical assistants to promote efficient clinic operations, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Duties

• Ensure compliance with clinical regulations and policies.
• Provide counseling, education, support, and referral resources to patients.
• Create provider schedules.
• May conduct educational training sessions for clinic employees.
• Manage clinical employees, to include defining work responsibilities and prioritization, setting performance development plans and goals, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
• Build and maintain a work environment that promotes trust and engagement of competent team members and providers.  
• Effectively implement and monitor utilization of Epic for improved preventive medicine and disease management practices.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• ​​​​​​Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Three years of relevant experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).   
• Certification in area of specialty for non-BSN incumbents.
