Summary
Oversees a team of echocardiograph technologists providing clinical supervision, guidance, and support while ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulations. Performs and teaches a range of standard to complex echocardiograms. Resolves questions and issues resulting in the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Job Duties
- Supervises a team of echocardiograph technologists day to day activities which includes monitoring work schedules, plans and delegates workload, and adjusts as necessary.
- Ensures policies, procedures, and regulations are followed.
- Analyzes and develops strategies in program or policy improvement initiatives.
- Provides guidance on complex issues as well as trains and mentors staff.
- Prepares exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct cardiac sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Provides patient services consistent with the scope of practice and clinical standards, reviews and documents patient medical history , conducts clinic assessment, performs diagnostic exams, and ensures sonography exams are completed according to the orders.
- Assists in carrying out quality assurance protocols and quality Improvement measures within the department.
- Assists with the pursuit and maintenance of cutting edge technical and clinical updates.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited training program through an accredited institution.
- Four years of relevant experience.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
