The department of Otolaryngology has an opening for a Supervisor, Audiology.  This position administers and interprets basic and special hearing evaluations and assessments.  Provides supervision to the newborn hearing screening program; ensures compliance with Texas Department of Health Service and Texas State Law.  Provides supervision and training to graduate audiology students.  Supervises audiology technicians.

Job Duties

  • Collaborates with Chief of Otolaryngology service line at BTGH to update and maintain audiological diagnostic policies and procedures.
  • Maintain mandatory quality and data tracking systems, develop more efficient and effective mechanisms for tracking clinical information as needed.
  • Participates in administrative meetings as directed by BCM and Harris Health.
  • Assists in recruitment, training, and supervision of additional audiology staff at BTGH as needed based on departmental needs.
  • Collaborates with Chief of Service at BTGH, as well as departmental faculty to maintain diagnostic quality and positive patient experience in Audiology.
  • Participates in informal as well as formal education of residents as requested by department leadership.
  • Collaborates with Department Administrator on budget development and adherence.
  • Manages diagnostic equipment quality and function, responsible for regular calibration and updates as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Audiology.
  • Three years of relevant experience.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and Texas State Licensure as an Audiologist from the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Epic experience.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
