At the Center for Medical Ethics & Health Policy, we’re uncovering and exploring the most pressing policy and ethical issues in biomedical research. Join us for a summer research internship and help drive change in important areas like the ethical, legal, and social implications of genomics, neuroethics, the ethics of artificial intelligence, medical decision-making, and health equity.

Job Purpose

The Bioethics Summer Internship has three main components:


  • A research experience with Center faculty related to a topic area of interest.
  • An education experience with Center faculty and staff through a lunch-and-learn series.
  • A community experience through the Center’s intellectual and social activities.


Program Information:


  • The Bioethics Summer Internship is open to undergraduate and graduate students in degree granting programs.
  • The internship will be held in June - August 2022. Internships can be remote or in person.
  • The internship is unpaid* with a commitment of up to 20 hours per week.
  • Research experiences will not include laboratory or work in the healthcare setting.


*To expand this opportunity to individuals who could not otherwise participate in an unpaid internship, the Center will select two interns to receive an honorarium. See the application for more details on how to request this additional support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
  • Commitment of up to 20 hours per week
