Summary

This lab focuses on the the basic mechanisms that regulate hematopoietic stem cells, and how their misregulation leads to leukemia development. Stem cells reside in the bone marrow in a quiescent state, but rapidly become activated to regenerate the hematopoietic system.

Job Purpose

Student Helpers provides services to a department on a temporary basis while gaining professional experience.

Job Duties

We are seeking a student helper in support of the research mission of the department. This is a student position responsible for assisting graduate students and faculty with research activities.

Job Duties:
1. Conducts research related to project hypotheses and objectives in accordance with research protocol
2. Assists with various research-related tasks, including conducting library searches, literature reviews, and laboratory experiments, collecting, analyzing, interpreting data and preparing reports for immediate supervisor
3. May assists with various research-related tasks, including project design and implementation

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, research methodologies, principles, and techniques.
2. Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with college faculty and staff, students, and the general public.
3. Ability to understand and follow instructions.
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Required: Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • Experience Required: None Required.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.
