Job Purpose

The Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a part-time Student Researcher (~10 hours/week) to provide research support in ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of genomics. This position is funded through December 2021 and eligible candidates will be currently enrolled in college at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Job Duties

  • Provide assistance with and contribute to studies on ELSI issues, including projects on genetics of cardiovascular disease, and adult intellectual disability.
  • Help with survey programming and data management to ensure quality and identify and address issues as they arise.
  • Conduct literature searches and summarize information. 
  • Build reports based on findings for research team and collaborators.
  • Assist with preparation of papers and presentations for dissemination of findings.
  • Attend project meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • No experience required.
