Summary
The Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas at Harris Health System Outpatient Neurological Clinic, 4800 Fournace is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist. The ideal candidate should have experience in the evaluation and treatment of neurogenic, communication, and swallowing disorders. Ability to practice independently is preferred. The successful candidate will work within a growing multidisciplinary team of rehabilitation experts.
Job Duties
- Evaluates and treats inpatient and outpatient adults and pediatric patients with communication disorders and/or swallowing disorders.
- Schedules appointments, discusses patient progress and/or status with physicians and other professionals.
- Provides patient/family education.
- Monitors patient needs.
- Documents daily treatment and evaluation results.
- May supervise student externs.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- One year of relevant experience.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and Texas State Licensure as a Speech Pathologist from the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR).
