Summary
The Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas at Harris Health Ben Taub Hospital is seeking a part-time (34 hours), benefits eligible Speech-Language Pathologist. The ideal candidate should have experience in neonate feeding and swallowing, acute care setting, MBS and FEES experience. Ability to practice independently is preferred. The successful candidate will work within a growing multidisciplinary team of laryngologists, H&N surgeons, other SLPs, and SLP students.
This position is located at Ben Taub Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
Job Duties
- Evaluates and treats inpatient and outpatient adults and pediatric patients with communication disorders and/or swallowing disorders.
- Schedules appointments, discusses patient progress and/or status with physicians and other professionals.
- Provides patient/family education.
- Monitors patient needs.
- Documents daily treatment and evaluation results.
- May supervise student externs.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- One year of relevant experience.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and Texas State Licensure as a Speech Pathologist from the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR).
Preferred Qualifications
- Neonate experience in an ICU setting.
- MBS experience.
- FEES experience.
