Summary

The Software Engineering and Programming Specialist will assist other CCIT developers in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining the Center’s portfolio of web and mobile applications, infrastructure, and other technical products.

This position will work directly with faculty and staff at the College and other collaborating institutions to assist in developing requirements, managing projects, and supporting end-users.  This position may also contribute to big data projects, involving data management pipelines, analysis, and visualizations.  To ensure success, the candidate should possess a willingness to learn from other developers as well as outside resources, accept constructive feedback on work products, and strive to complete projects on time and with attention to detail.

Job Duties

  • Participating in all aspects of development and maintenance of web sites and web and mobile applications, primarily using the Django web framework and React Native mobile application framework and other technologies as required
  • Leading development on one or more small- to medium-sized projects
  • Working directly with collaborators and clients to develop requirements and ensure project success
  • Assisting the technical team in development and maintenance of cloud infrastructure in AWS
  • Assisting the technical team in ensuring security and compliance in all production products
  • Assisting technical and research teams in conducting data analysis, reporting, and visualizations
  • Collaborating with other developers to develop and test software products
  • Producing and maintaining website content, reports, and analytics
  • Researching and assessing new technologies and methodologies
  • Developing, maintaining, and entering website content, such as images, video, and text
  • Using user feedback and testing results to identify problems and opportunities in the Center’s technical projects

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (no experience required with bachelor's degree).  
  • One year of experience with Python, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills.

  • Willingness to learn and accept feedback and instruction.
