You’ll help shape the digital presence of TXCH by editing and updating our website using Drupal, writing compelling content that reflects our mission, and supporting internal communications through the maintenance of ~50 SharePoint sites across our main and satellite campuses.
Located in the Texas Medical Center, this role offers convenient access to affordable parking at SmithLands and may be eligible for a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite / 2 days remote) after onboarding.

Job Duties
- Collaborates with team members regarding requirements, schedules, and activities; troubleshoots development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
- Works closely with the Manager and the other Software Engineer to ensure institutional resilience by maintaining, updating, and improving the Website (Drupal) and SharePoint sites, based on needs from Texas Children’s leadership, staff, and faculty.
- Maintains, extends, and integrates software products throughout the software's life cycle.
- Supports users by maintaining documentation and assistance tools.
- Assists SharePoint site co-owners (faculty and staff) with site maintenance, permissions, and enhancements under guidance from the Software Engineer. Provides training to promote best practices and ensures site security and appropriate access controls.
- Manages documentation and communicates site improvements, security concerns, and issues to upper management.
- Drafts, tests, finalizes, and maintains SOPs and documentation for key web and SharePoint tasks, ensuring resilience through collaboration with the Manager, other Software Engineer, and Cancer and Hematology team members.
- Integrates software and establishes connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers; assists with adding new functionality as needed.
- Supports software and server integration and adds new website features using front-end and back-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP).
- Manages content, permissions, and automated applications.
- Under Manager guidance, collaborates with content experts to draft, edit, and finalize website content (clinical, research, news, blogs, etc.) using Microsoft 365.
- Maintains and updates faculty profiles and related website content to support strategic alignment. Manages the website to support external communications for patients and families, referring physicians, research collaborators, and fellowship applicants (hematology-oncology, advanced track, and junior faculty).
- Coordinates website updates and stakeholder engagement for the roll-out of the Kinder Children's Cancer Center.
- Maintains the faculty/fellow spreadsheet, capturing details on physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and research faculty, including role, location, section and program affiliation.
- Optimizes website architecture to ensure system-wide changes are efficient and require minimal effort.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- No prior experience required with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Familiarity with front-end and back-end web development tools and languages.
- Interest or experience in content creation, including writing and visual editing (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Exposure to data visualization or analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
