Job Purpose

External Title:  Senior Drupal/PHP Developer 

Internal Title:  Senior Web Application Developer

This Senior Web Application Developer is responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining web-based application systems; troubleshoots system problems and issues and looks for ways to improve the application. The Sr. Web Application Developer has knowledge of a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within the programming field; provides other programmers guidance and support with more advanced/complicated development issues; relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; performs a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Job Responsibilities
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents software programming applications.
  • Annotates software code in order to provide future support continuity.
  • Utilizes object-oriented principals and designs patterns to accomplish web application tasks.
  • Ensures web application functionality is accurate against both business and technical scope.
  • Works closely with customers and supporting IT teams in order to deliver the best product, as quickly as possible, and at the lowest cost.
  • Works closely with the IT Project Management Group and IT training and documentation group in order to effectively deliver projects that meet defined requirements.
  • Develops accurate timetables for development cycles.
  • Assists and consults with other IT members on technical issues.
  • Monitors computer systems.
  • Helps team maintain good relations with vendors.
  • Analyzes emerging software and hardware technologies.
Minimum Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Healthcare, or a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Seven years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Background in managing web developers and teams.
8+ years of experience in web application development with minimum 4 years using Drupal include theming plus + backend, with a heavy emphasis on backend Drupal module development and creating custom reports.
Experience with Drupal architecture, best practices, and coding standards
Experience with Acquia Cloud Site Factory will be preferred
Experience with object-oriented design and data modelling
Experience with third-party applications/tools and integration
Experience with performance optimization of Drupal application
Experience of DevOps
Experience with source/version control systems like GIT
Familiarity with user experience design principles and processes
Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong time management and analytical/problem solving abilities
Analytics implementation including tagging structures, Google Tag Manager and Analytics, custom analytics implementation. 
Experience with data collection with Drupal and working with Webforms and Workflow
At least 3 years’ experience leading solutioning of Drupal architectures and leading Drupal development teams
Strong and effective oral and written communication skills
Experience with Git
