Job Purpose

Assist with oversight and providing support for administrative and financial operations of research and clinical studies with the Research Resources Office.  Participate in pre and post-award grant management activities.  

 

Job Duties
  • Assist with overseeing and supporting administrative and financial operations of research projects and clinical trials.
  • Work with Principal Investigators to develop grant submissions for new, continuing and competing applications to include grant proposal preparation, study budget forecasting, completion of required forms, as well as other administrative aspects of the proposal process.  
  • Ensure proposal compliance with Institution and funding agency policies and procedures.  Serves as a liaison between the Investigator, grantor agencies and subcontracting institutions.
  • Monitor research funding, advises and reports issues as necessary, prepares project reports for Investigators and RRO administration.
  • Oversee sub award setup and invoice processing.  
  • Assist with effort reporting and prepares progress reports.
  • Provide assurances that study expenditures are properly monitored, documented and recorded.
  • Lead contract and agreement negotiations.
  • Ensure proposal compliance with Institution and funding agency policies and procedures.  Serves as a liaison between the Investigator, grantor agencies and subcontracting institutions.
  • Review and approve electronic proposal submissions in-Biomedical Research and Assurance Information Network (BRAIN).
  • Consult with and assist faculty regarding the preparation of industry sponsored contracts, sponsored research agreements, and material transfer agreements.
  • Perform financial feasibility assessment of clinical trial budgets; develops and negotiates reimbursement for clinical trial participation. Creates budget templates to streamline budget creation and review process.
  • Monitor receivables on grant/contract accounts, ensure timely requests for reimbursements.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Research/Sponsored Programs to proactively keep departments apprised of changes in policies and regulations of federal and non-federal grantor agencies.

 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor's degree.
  • Required: Four years of relevant experience.
