Job Title:  Senior Research Administration Associate

Salary Range:  $79,092 - $93,049
FLSA Status:  Exempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Senior Research Administration Associate will serve as the primary administrative resource for the Baylor Center for Alzheimer's and Neurodegenerative Diseases (CAND), contributing to Baylor College of Medicine's strategic initiatives in Alzheimer's disease and related disorders through oversight of pre- and post-award grant activities, center operations, special programs, and support for the CAND director. The position will be physically based at the Duncan Neurological Research Institute. 

 

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

 

Employees with CRA certification are eligible for certification pay.

Job Duties

Sponsored Research Administration & Grants Management (Pre-Award/Post-Award)

  • Review/approve grant applications and certify data in the electronic Biomedical Research and Assurance Information Network (BRAIN)
  • Lead process improvement for pre/post award management
  • Advise faculty on funding opportunities, eligibility, and complex submissions
  • Prepare internal/external grant and subcontract submissions
  • Ensure compliance with sponsor and institutional guidelines
  • Serve as grants liaison for BCM, other institutions, and funding agencies

 

Financial & Operational Research Support 

  • Provide CAND operational support Provide grant program and financial oversight related to sponsored research 
  • Provide grant program and financial oversight related to sponsored research
  • Prepare monthly expense reports for active grants and affiliate funds
  • Review & process contracts Concur expense management

 

Other Job-Related Duties / Special Projects 

  • Manage calendar, meetings, appointments for CAND director
  • Special Projects, including CAND Seminar & Symposia Planning 
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.  Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with National Institutes of Health funding mechanisms and policies is essential, preferably ranging from fellowships to complex multi-component / multi-institutional grants (e.g., P30, U01, and similar).
