Summary
The Senior Registered Dietitian serves as a member of the Baylor Medicine Comprehensive Healthcare Clinic Concierge and Executive Health Program team, delivering exceptional, service-focused care to Baylor constituents, special patient populations, and corporate clients. The Senior Registered Dietitian provides customized medical nutrition therapy, wellness services, and disease prevention guidance while supporting an optimal patient experience within an interdisciplinary outpatient setting. This highly patient-facing role requires a strong background in clinical nutrition combined with a concierge-level approach to service.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with executive and corporate clients and adapting to high expectations for communication, responsiveness, and personalization of care. The role also involves close collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members and may include participation in wellness programming, experiential patient education such as cooking demonstrations, and development of health education resources. Experience in executive health, lifestyle medicine, or corporate wellness is preferred.
Job Duties
- Provides comprehensive, patient-centered and culturally responsive nutrition care.
- Conducts nutrition assessments, including estimated nutritional needs, body composition analysis via DEXA Fit, review of DEXA Bone analysis, laboratory data, and relevant clinical findings.
- Develops individualized nutrition and wellness plans and regularly evaluates client progress, adjusting interventions as clinically appropriate.
- Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and coordinate patient care plans.
- Provides evidence-based nutrition counseling for disease prevention, weight management, diabetes, heart disease, and other applicable conditions.
- Uses motivational interviewing and other evidence-based techniques to support sustainable behavior change.
- Provides appropriate vitamin and mineral supplementation recommendations within the dietitian's scope of practice and established clinical protocols.
- Supports patients through in-clinic, telephonic, video, and MyChart interactions, including review of food journals, fitness trackers, and continuous glucose monitoring data as appropriate.
- Triages and refers patients for higher levels of medical nutrition therapy when medically indicated.
- Develops and delivers individual and group nutrition education, including experiential activities such as cooking demonstrations, food tastings, and wellness programming.
- Develops patient education materials and contributes to nutrition and wellness resources, including handouts, recipes, blog posts, and other educational content.
- Completes required clinical documentation, charting, and billing within established timeframes.
- Collaborates with Executive 360 and concierge clinic teams to support executive physicals, corporate wellness initiatives, and personalized patient experiences.
- Participates in interdisciplinary meetings, strategic planning, and new service-line initiatives.
- Maintains timely, professional communication, outstanding customer service, ethical standards, and patient confidentiality.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field.
- Five years of relevant experience.
- Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the American Dietetic Association.
- Licensed Dietitian by the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
- Willing to obtain SERVSafe Food Protection Manager Certification within one year of hire.
- Basic Life Support certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
