Salary Range:  $70,618 to $83,080
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Senior Radiologic Technologist is a lead-level position responsible for providing high-quality radiographic imaging services while overseeing radiology operations across multiple orthopedic outpatient clinic locations. This role combines direct patient care with operational leadership, ensuring compliance, staffing coverage, equipment functionality, and standardized radiology practices throughout the department.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.  Also the ability to travel between clinic locations throughout the Houston area.

Job Duties

  • Performs diagnostic X-ray examinations in accordance with physician orders and established imaging protocols.
  • Ensures patient safety, proper positioning, image quality, and radiation safety standards.
  • Supports providers and clinical staff with imaging-related needs and workflow efficiency.
  • Maintains accurate documentation and timely completion of imaging studies.
  • Serves as the lead radiology resource across all clinic locations.
  • Oversees daily radiology operations and ensure consistency in workflows and best practices.
  • Monitors patient throughput, imaging quality, and operational performance.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient access.
  • Manages Radiologic Technologist schedules across all locations, including Vintage, Sugar Land, San Felipe, and McNair.
  • Coordinates staffing assignments based on clinic volume and operational needs.
  • Manages daily staffing challenges, including call-outs, schedule changes, and coverage gaps.
  • Assists with onboarding, training, mentoring, and support of radiology staff.
  • Ensures compliance with all radiology, radiation safety, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
  • Maintains readiness for inspections, audits, and accreditation reviews.
  • Monitors staff licensure, certifications, and required training.
  • Leads quality assurance activities to ensure consistency and excellence in imaging services.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for radiology equipment issues.
  • Coordinates service requests, preventative maintenance, and vendor support.
  • Troubleshoots equipment concerns and ensure minimal disruption to clinic operations.
  • Maintains equipment records and support planning for future equipment need
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
  • Three years of related experience. 
  • Certification and Registration as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry or Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and Licensure as a Medical Radiological Technologist or Limited Medical Radiological Technologist by the Texas Medical Board (TMB).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous lead technologist experience.
  • Five years of radiology experience, preferably in an orthopedic setting.
