Summary
The IT team that supports the clinical mission of Baylor College of Medicine is looking for a senior level IT professional to lead our Revenue and Access support team. The Manager will demonstrate commitment to the IT Vision Statement: "Establish I.T. as a trusted partner and thought leader in technology across the College." The Senior Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of applications and team members that help Baylor Medicine deliver on Baylor Medicine Patient Access Brand Promises. The Manager will be the primary liaison from IT to Revenue and Access Operations. The position reports to the Executive Director of Clinical Systems and partners with the Senior Manager of Ancillary Systems and the Senior Manager of Clinical Systems to provide systems and applications to cover a wide range of ambulatory healthcare capabilities.
This position is eligible to work hybrid within the Greater Houston, TX area with only occasional onsite as needed.
Job Duties
In managing the assigned portfolio of applications and technical capabilities manager will:
- Hold prioritization meetings with customers.
- Review existing health of system and coordinate activities around continual improvement and maintenance.
- Prioritize work for team members and ensure team processes are efficient.
- Lead review of new functionality and system optimizations available through vendor and ensure system is current.
- Ensure service levels are met with respect to incident response and resolution.
- Design, manage, improve internal processes used by team.
- Conduct environmental scanning to ensure BCM keeps up with industry trends and emerging capabilities.
As an "internal consultant" the manager is expected to foster creative solutions to the challenges that face our ambulatory practice. As a manager of people, the manager is expected to develop relationships with team members through regular meetings and interactions with the intent to help team members develop from a skills and professional abilities perspective. The manager will be responsible for administrative tasks related to people management such as handling time-off requests, ensuring IT and organization level communication reaches individual contributors.
Provides leadership and planning for clinical application core services. Develops professional development program to help strengthen team members' professional abilities by matching the individual's skills, business interests, and work values with opportunities for growth. Manages production outages and degradations in service. Provides direction for custom software development. Directs, mentors, and evaluates assigned team. Prepares and administers department budget; negotiates contracts with external consultants/vendors. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Five years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Epic certifications are greatly preferred in the area of Epic's Access and Revenue modules.
- Certifications and/or experience in other healthcare settings are a plus.
- Training and/or experience in Agile/Scrum/Kanban is a plus.
