The Senior Manager, Training designs and monitors the delivery of training to CCM personnel in the areas of proper husbandry, sanitation procedures, proper handling of animals, nutritional issues, zoonosis, personal protective equipment, safety awareness, hazardous materials awareness and any other related training pertinent to operation procedures of BCM’s animal facilities. Performs other tasks requiring judgement, initiative and in-depth knowledge of college policies and procedures. Provides leadership and contributes to ongoing implementation of program evaluation and learning processes.

Job Duties

  • Manage professional level Training Analyst employees, to include defining work responsibilities and prioritization, setting performance development plans and goals, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
  • Create course content and support materials and maintain currency of content on SuccessFactors.
  • May make recommendations for process improvement to senior leaders and implement changes.
  • May assist with or monitor budgets and financial data related to the group.
  • Collect and maintain database of animal welfare concerns resulting from health checks.
  • Assume responsibility for onboarding new hires and for training users on the research side and tracking proficiency.
  • Standardize training among different animal facilities to support the alignment in practices.
  • Establish a team of hands-on trainers in each animal facility who will sign off new employees on proficiency of each procedure and support the shadowing for new employees.
  • Implement a train the trainer program for designated facility trainers.
  • Establish process for follow up with new hires by assessing proficiency after the designated trainer signs off.
  • Manage a structured training program to develop leadership skills among facility managers and supervisors and leads. 
  • Leads training presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five years of relevant experience.
