Summary
The Department of Orthopedics Surgery is seeking a full-time Senior Business Operations Manager. The position will manage the daily operations of the department in the areas of human resources, compliance, and financial management. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver and possesses strong communication skills. This position will require proactive reporting and knowledge of the financial status of the department on an ongoing basis. It will also require significant multitasking at a fast pace as daily decisions are made about finances.
This position will assist with faculty and staff onboarding, faculty agreements and report out on faculty performance, pro forma management, consistent financial reporting on budget and performance, developing financial solutions, and active knowledge of the financial state of the department.
Job Duties
- Manage primarily supervisors and/or experienced professional level employees’ responsibilities and prioritization, setting performance development plans and goals, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
- Establish, manage, and control budgets and a variety of financial data. Establish financial and operational systems to monitor, control, and verify expenditures and carry out financial analyses.
- Create staffing plans and productivity guidelines according to budget availability and department/unit needs.
- Review and approve faculty and staff supplemental payments for multiple departments.
- Create pro formas for department recruitment and expansion.
- Create and implement strategies for revenue growth and expense control, provide regular reporting on budget.
- Actively collaborate with key department and College stakeholders to maximize effective business operations.
- Create policies and guidelines for department activities. Communicate and monitor policies.
- Review and approve all statements of accounts, payroll, human resources, and invoice actions.
- Maintain PEPT and Effort allocation for staff and faculty.
- May oversee or originate pre-award and/or post-award related projects and tasks in support of department faculty members.
- Submit capital request for the department(s).
- Oversee submission and approval of all new and replacement positions, equity adjustment, promotions.
- Assist with system submissions on all employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Maintain a folder with up-to-date Faculty FEAs and schedule for supplementals as needed.
- Initiate Practice Reviews for Faculty on recruitment agreements.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Five years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Master's in Business Administration.
- Experience in SAP (S4), Workday, Power BI, Excel.
