Summary
Baylor College of Medicine seeks a skilled and experienced Senior Informatics Associate to join the Sheth and Provenza laboratories. We are looking for a team member to help coordinate and automate various aspects of the data pipeline, especially from initial collection, transfer to centralized resources, and automated processing. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, such as overseeing cloud and on-premises infrastructure and offering technical assistance to colleagues and end users. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and proficiency with python, Windows, and Linux server administration. The position requires excellent communication skills, and working directly with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, research coordinators, data managers, biostatisticians, fellows, and students.
Job Duties
- Maintain deployments of automated data pipelines, working efficiently to address issues as they arise (30%).
- Continually develop and improve automation and data management tools (20%).
- Jointly develop a video processing pipeline to extract clinically meaningful data from recorded video (20%).
- Assist in administering both Windows and Linux servers, both on site and in the cloud (10%).
- Write comprehensive documentation and protocols for deployed systems and software (5%).
- Process collected research data for easier consumption (5%).
- Develop tools to rapidly develop, test and integrate statistical models for clinical predictions (5%).
- Provides statistical analysis and data management to support scientific progress (5%).
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
