Job Title:  Senior Electronics Technician
Division:  Facility Services
Work Arrangement:  Onsite only
Location:  Houston, TX
Salary Range:  $57,320 - $67,435
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Summary

Designs, installs, repairs, troubleshoots, and maintains fire alarm systems, elevator systems, and other electronic equipment and devices.

 

Providing support to the institution in situations that may arise, including disaster preparation and response, building flooding and contractor supervision.

Job Duties

  • Repairs and maintains the security system which includes but is not limited to the card readers, cameras, magnetic door holders, automatic security doors, door strikes, and mortise locks.
  • Repairs and services Research lab equipment for all Baylor campuses.
  • Maintains fire alarm systems for all Baylor campuses.
  • Interprets engineering change orders, blueprints, diagrams, sketches, photographs, or other process documentation as they relate to assigned duties.
  • Estimates job cost and communicates repair cost, time, and schedule to client.
  • Monitors inventory of supplies and orders replacements.
  • May install and maintain electronic security systems.
  • May provide guidance and technical work direction to less experienced electronic system employees.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Physical dexterity/ ability to lift heavy objects and use a ladder.
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Influences others outside the team or job area regarding practices and procedures.
  • Communication information on matter of importance.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of operational,function and business systems and practices.

Department-specific Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and meet Baylor College of Medicine's driving eligibility requirements, including a clean driving record and a minimum of three years of U.S. driving history.
