Job Title:  Senior Coordinator, Business Operations
Division:  Center for Comparative Medicine
Work Arrangement:  Onsite only
Location:  Houston, TX
Salary Range:  $57,320 - $67,435
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

Under general supervision, the Senior Coordinator, Business Operations provides essential administrative support for the Center for Comparative Medicine. This role serves as the lead for billing and collections, including related data entry, and oversees reimbursements and facility access. The coordinator communicates effectively with internal and external customers and may provide guidance to team members or lead departmental projects. This position requires strong organizational and time‑management skills, along with the ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines.

Job Duties

  • Leads the process for monthly end charge entry billing. Monitor expense and transactional reports resolving issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Manages the facility access process that includes documenting and communicating with research investigators.
  • Oversees capital purchases and operational contracts, ensuring thorough document tracking and conducting pricing analysis as needed.
  • Organizes and leads the process for the weekly and monthly census count.
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders and reimbursements in Jaggaer, Concur and/or SAP accounting systems.
  • Participates or take lead role in special projects related to planning or budget monitoring.
  • Ensures the mail is distributed across the department.
  • Assists with Business Office specific Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assists with tasks related to Research model procurement, conference room management and document management. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (degrees that emphasize Business or Communication)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
