Summary
The Senior Coordinator, Business Operations position will administratively support all aspects of the new Cerebellum Center. Successful candidates must be able to meet multiple, often competing deadlines, as well as coordinate recruitment, visiting speakers, symposia, and workshops. Excellent verbal and written skills , strategic planning, and budget management are required. Experience with graduate training programs and NIH training grants a plus. The successful candidate will interact with individuals at all levels, from donors, department chairs, and center directors to graduate students, postdocs, residents, and other trainees. Professionalism is paramount.
Job Duties
- Works closely to establish the Cerebellum Center at BCM and TCH NRI.
- Develops qualification criteria and description of responsibilities to appoint existing BCM faculty members to the Cerebellum Center and recruit new faculty to the Center and the appropriate departmental and administrative sections.
- Advertises nationally to recruit new Center members, coordinating closely with TCH Pathology, other departments as appropriate, and BCM HR.
- Coordinates seminars and other educational activities: help with seminar speakers, room arrangements, Cerebellum Center and NIH symposium organization.
- Oversees quarterly faculty networking dinners, similar to the Developmental Brain Disorder Discussion Group Dinners.
- Manages communication between Cerebellum Center members, including help with organizing small group discussions, keeping meeting notes, and supporting follow up discussions.
- Helps to support lap personel.
- Assists with grant applications, travel requests, reimbursements, budgets, and other responsibilities as assigned in close coordination with TCH Pathology administrative personnel.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree.
- Experience with academic medical centers and graduate training programs is preferred.
