Job Purpose

This position will primarily be responsible for developing and implementing educational and research projects in the BCM Infectious Diseases Section. This position will have dedicated duties for programs/projects for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) funded grant for the South Central AIDS Education and Training Center (SCAETC).

Job Duties
  • Attend team development meetings for projects.
  • Maintain appropriate records for educational/training programs.
  • Respond promptly to queries generated by the University of New Mexico SCAETC central office or HRSA.
  • Participate in preparing grant proposals.
  • Create promotional material.
  • Maintaining project logs and providing weekly updates at team meetings.
  • Help develop, implement, and conduct educational projects under the grant.
  • Maintain all BCM required trainings.
  • Maintain Certification for Protection of Human Subjects.
  • Participate in conference calls for to the SCAETC and as needed for specific projects or educational partners.
  • Attend project specific meetings, locally and nationally.
  • Communicate effectively with multiple health agencies throughout the greater Houston area.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all investigators and team personnel.
  • Attend local meetings to help develop collaborations.
  • Communicate effectively with the University of New Mexico SCAETC central office, Thomas Street Health Center, Harris Health System, HRSA, local educational partners.
  • Input data into the pertinent tracking data system for the SCAETC.
  • Develop databases for specific projects.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to the project.
  • Travel to educational partners.
Minimum Qualifications

·         Required: High School diploma or GED.

·         Required: Four years of relevant experience.
